Arthro CBCT combines contrast agent injection with high-resolution 3D imaging. It is the most effective exam for detailed analysis of cartilage, menisci, and ligaments. It provides an unparalleled view of complex joints such as the wrist or ankle.
- Please report any possible pregnancy before the exam.
- This test is contraindicated in patients with an allergy to iodinated contrast media.
Remove all metal objects (jewelry, piercings, glasses, etc.) from the area being examined.
- Injection of the iodine product
The examination begins with the injection of an iodinated contrast agent directly into the joint to be studied, under radiographic control.
This procedure is generally not very painful , comparable to a blood test. In some cases, it may be combined with an injection of cortisone derivatives to relieve joint pain at the same time. - Image Acquisition
Once the contrast agent has been injected, a volumetric scan is performed. It provides high-resolution images that allow for a detailed analysis of cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and bone, enabling an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
- Low radiation exposure: an X-ray dose that is much lower than that of a conventional CT scan.
